The Bottom Line
Every model makes excellent ice cream. The core Ice Cream, Sorbet, and Lite Ice Cream programs are identical across all models. Choose based on budget and which extra programs matter to you.## Understanding the Lineup
Ninja sells multiple Creami models, and the differences between them matter more than most people realize. Choosing the right model saves you money if you do not need premium features, or prevents frustration if you need a feature your model does not have. This guide breaks down every current model so you can make an informed decision.
The core technology is the same across all models: a powerful motor spins a blade through a frozen pint to transform solid ice into creamy ice cream. The differences are in capacity, number of programs, and special features like the Scoop and Swirl dispensing system.
Ninja CREAMi 5-in-1 (NC300 Series)
The entry-level model with five programs: Ice Cream, Sorbet, Gelato, Milkshake, and Smoothie Bowl. This is the original Creami that started the revolution. It uses standard 16-ounce pints and has no lite ice cream, frozen yogurt, or Italian ice programs.
The 5-in-1 is perfect if you primarily make ice cream, sorbet, and gelato. The three missing programs (Lite Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt, Italian Ice) can be approximated by adjusting your base recipe and using the Ice Cream or Sorbet programs. Many experienced users started with this model and never felt limited by it.

Ninja CREAMi 7-in-1 (NC301)
The most popular model. Adds Lite Ice Cream and Frozen Yogurt programs to the 5-in-1 base, bringing the total to seven programs. Still uses 16-ounce pints. This is the model most recipe creators develop for, and the one we recommend for most people.
The Lite Ice Cream program is specifically calibrated for protein-heavy and lower-fat bases. It processes more aggressively than the standard Ice Cream program, which helps break down the ice crystals that form in lean bases. If you plan to make protein ice cream regularly, this program alone justifies the upgrade from the 5-in-1.
The Frozen Yogurt program is optimized for yogurt-based recipes, which have different freezing characteristics than cream-based ones. The tang of Greek yogurt requires a different processing approach to achieve smooth results.
Ninja CREAMi Deluxe 11-in-1 (NC501)
The feature-packed model. Adds Italian Ice, Creamiccino, Slushi, and Frozen Drink programs beyond the 7-in-1. Uses larger 24-ounce pints, which means 50% more ice cream per batch.
The 24-ounce capacity is the biggest practical difference. If you regularly make ice cream for a family of four or more, the larger pints save significant prep time. Instead of making two 16-ounce pints, you make one 24-ounce pint. Recipes designed for 16-ounce pints need to be scaled up by 1.5x for the Deluxe.
The Italian Ice program creates a coarser, icier texture than Sorbet, which is exactly what Italian ice should be. The Creamiccino and Slushi programs are fun additions for coffee drinks and frozen cocktails but are not essential for most users.

Ninja CREAMi Scoop and Swirl (NC701)
The dispensing model. Uses 16-ounce pints but adds a unique soft-serve dispensing feature. After processing, you can dispense the ice cream through a spout as a soft swirl, similar to a soft-serve machine. This is the model you want if you love that classic soft-serve presentation.
The Scoop and Swirl also includes special two-chamber pints that let you create layered or swirled soft serve with two different flavors or colors. This is the party trick model. Kids love watching the soft serve dispense, and the visual impact at gatherings is significant.
Note that the dispensing feature only works with softer consistencies. Dense ice cream or hard-frozen bases do not dispense well. The best results come from milkshake-consistency bases or recipes specifically designed for the soft-serve program.

Ninja CREAMi XL Deluxe 11-in-1
The largest capacity model with all 11 programs and extra-large pints. This is the premium option for serious ice cream makers who want maximum capacity and every available program. If you entertain frequently, meal-prep frozen desserts for the week, or just want the best Ninja offers, this is the one.
